54 cm 2012 Trek Madone 5.2 purchased New Year's Eve 2012. While most people dislike the brand, I am loving my bike. It does the job for me and that's all that matters. After the crash, the only contact point damaged was the bar tape. Replaced the stock saddle as well and now loving the Romin Evo. Just need a bike computer, maybe a more comfortable handlebar, and definitely lighter wheels. Considering 11-32 cassette with the upcoming Ultegra RD Mid-cage in case a bailout gear is needed, but uncertain at this point.

New frameset -- Ridley Excalibur -- built up with Campy 10 (Chorus/Centaur) and Open Pro training wheels. That's athletic tape on the bars just in case I need to make any big changes to the cockpit. I will post up a glamour shot with race wheels and proper bar tape soon.

you are one lucky man. I've tested that complete same setup and even with those fulcrum quatros on there it rides like a dream. But still €3500 for the frameset is a bit pricey for me. Personaly i'm thinking of going for the ridley noah. Does anybody have experience with these?

    My new ride

Picked this up a couple weeks ago after being out of cycling for a while... was hit on my 5.2 back in '11.
The Look Keo 2 Max pedals take some getting used to, had only used speedplays in the past. They are definitely easier to walk in though.

I personally love the ergo of the Sram doubletap stuff. I found the older (Pre 2011) shimano shifters were too large and made my hands hurt trying to shift the long gears. However, I have ridden some of the new Shimano stuff and it seems like their new ergonomics on the shifters are much better. I still do like the Sram feel better. Shift quality, now that might be a different story for everybody.

thanks for the help, but about the shifting... do you get used to it fast, because with the double tap system i'd think i'd miss quite a few times compared to campy with the 2 buttons

Same for me being used to Shimano. I think with Doubletap I'd probably shift too far and accidentally shift down when I meant to go up, or vice versa.

New frame with the DA 9000 components and November wheelset coming from the Ridley Excalibur I built up this past Spring. Frame is a Trek Domane 5.9 52cm. Rides beautifully and exceptionally comfortable. Looking forward to getting my first long ride in shortly!

Was very intuitive for me, transitioning from Shimano lever action to SRAM lever action. Took me only one medium length ride to learn it. Rear was easy, took maybe 15 minutes. Front took a bit more time, mainly to understand that one full long pull takes the chain to the big ring, one short pull drops it to trim and a second short pull drops it back to the small ring. If it's in the big ring or in trim down from the big ring, a full length pull puts it back up to the large chain ring. If it's in the small ring, a short pull yields nothing-there is no trim position for the small ring (this is how it is on 2013 Force; I hear older SRAM FD has trim on small ring and not big ring, but new stuff is trim on big ring, not small).
