Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just picked up what I think is a 90's era Cadex from the LBS. It is perhaps a bit long in the tooth by some standards.
It is a carbon fiber frame. It rides nice and seems decent, so far.

'09 Novara Strada

Bought this, my first real road bike, last September. I've put about 450 miles on it to date. I've recently added these Syncros RP1.5 wheels. They're light (1,535 grams), and very stiff. I'm looking to upgrade the crankset and bottom bracket next.

Any feedback on the durability of the saddle? I was thinking about trying it but it just seems so flimsy. Anyway, nice bike.

The 'Venge' decal on this frame's downtube is supposed to be silver/gray. and in small lettering underneath venge in supposed to say 'created in morgan hill california'

i'll bet my crystal mouse collection that's a fake frame

Here's my entry into road cycling. Took possession of this raleigh r600 over the weekend, 1995 model. Very clean, apparently rarely used, and only cost $100. Just needs new tires, and I was surprised that I really didn't need to do anything to adjust the fit. Looking forward to better weather to take this out

My daily driver, my GMC Denali. 22.5" frame bought it for $40. After adjusting the derailleurs & re-installing the front tube (it had a bubble in the front tire from the tube being pinched) i was all set. Now after 2 months & 600 miles the bottom bracket is starting to wear out. Looking to upgrade to a better lighter bike (this one is 29 lbs) maybe by summer...

Here's my love. Fuji Roubaix 1.0. Shimano 105 components, and Time Xpresso 4 pedals. Fizik seat. Pretty basic, but I've had zero problems with her.

My first ever road bike. 2005 (according to the serial #) Giant. After riding a 1980's steel touring bike for the last couple years, this thing feels like a Ferrari (or at least a Toyota MR2!). From Craigslist, only used on a trainer (which I believe due to condition) and with a full set of factory replacement parts.

Yes that's a frozen lake in the background. Nothing like a brisk ride, huh?

Hi guys,

Trying to pick the right bike for the $

I will be using for a bit of NYC commuting, but mostly fun track days through central park for fun.

It between :

1. Felt F Lite SRD
LIKE NEW: 53cm FELT F LITE $650 OBO

2. Mercier Aero TT
2 years old
Mercier Aero TT 52CM

3. 2009 Specialized Allez Triple
Nearly New 2009 Specialized Allez Triple 52cm

4. (what I'm leaning towards) -
Jamis Quest Shimano 105 Mavic
https://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/bik/4284047863.html

5. Jamis Eclipse Road Series
Jamis Eclipse Road Series

Let me know which is THE BEST value. Need something that will ride smooth enough with gears on city streets and also go super fast and be fun to ride through the paved streets of Central Park.

Thanks !

Alex

from what I've read, you're supposed to replace them every year.

https://www.tiogausa.com/faq.html

the way I get my money isn't from the tree I have on my backyard, so consider that if you still get cheques like I do.
