Very rare... 1983 Ochsner Columbus Sl frame... reports vary about who built these frames... they were commissioned by Ochsner (the American importer of Campagnolo, and Assos brands among others) for retail sale. This one was purchased new in 1984, built up in 1996 and ridden for a couple of years and put into storage. I bought the frame for 80 GBP off eBay when everyone else was dumping classic steel frames for nothing in favor of buying new fiber bikes. Built it up with handmade 32H Dura Ace 7700s, on Velocity Deep V rims with DT spokes. Full Ultegra 6603 groupset, Thomson post, Selle SMP saddle, Dura Ace threaded HS, TTT Mutant quill stem, a pair of Orign8 shallow drop bars in 26.0, with Fizik gelpads, and Cinelli Gel tape, Dura Ace cables, and Vittoria tires. Bike was built for American style criterium racing so it is very fast handling, but not twitchy... let's just say it keeps me on my toes... of course there is the butt cradling feel of SL... but it is adequately stiff (even out of saddle) and gives that connected and, confident feel you only get from steel. The blue models were made of SP by a Swiss maker named Royal (any idea if they made other brands?)... the red is made from SL but some say the Billati Bros. made them, others say some models on the East Coast were farmed out to Serrotta, and yet other's have insisted it was the same Royal brand... doesn't matter to me. Bike is awesome... best of all worlds. Total cost... 1000GBP and over a decade to piece together.

I was looking at the Fuji Roubaix also! Nice bike! It really came down to what was available for me in my price range, used, in my area. It was somewhat limited as I didn't want to wait too long, but I'm glad the S20 was available as I absolutely love it. It fits me perfectly too (which is obv VERY important).

Exactly, in the end it is all what fits you. I'm 5'7" and ride a 52 cm, and the Fuji seems to fit better, for me that is. Oh and $600 for 105, that is not a bad deal at all. On thing I would highly recommend, is getting a bike fitting, it will make a world of difference in how you ride and how you feel after a ride.

Thanks, the GF has been a great frame for long rides.

Funny. Sorry maybe I'm showing my age but we don't know each other, I bust balls with my buddies like anyone else, so I'll just leave the joke commentary alone. But yeah, the tires were a failed experiment. They go great on my wife's bike though LOL, so for now I swapped tires. Will eventually get to black but here's a pic of how it stands now.

Going to leave this bike alone for cruising rides and going to build a more typical all black cervelo for speed. I'll be back

Here are mine. The Wilier is new, have only had it for about four months; it's pretty fun. Still enjoy riding the Litespeed tho, that bike and I have done a lot of miles together.

    Cheers

The Bianchi at the top of this page is the most outstanding bike here lately...and the Benotto is also a work of art...

Recently acquired Mercier Galaxy Sc1 in a trade for my mid 90's Balance Mtn bike. Cost me ZERO.

Bike is brand new and I am looking forward to getting back on the steed again!

I know it's a Bikes Direct bike but its a beginner bike for me that cost me nothing! Hooray for me!

Put some new bar tape on my bike, switched back to red cable housing (of course, also put new cables on it). Couldn't resist the urge to re-post.

I'm a regular on the C&V Forum since 2007. Since that is my era of biking...late 70s and 80s. But I like all bikes.
I've posted there some details of my situation since it began about 2 years ago. Basically I got the wool pulled over my eyes by a criminal-minded woman I married.
By the end of 2012, I found myself displaced from my house and all my possessions. I only had my second car, a netbook, my phone and charger, and 3 days change of clothing....homeless and unemployed. It's been a nightmare journey.

Since then the legal battles are now over and the trials ruled upon. So, I can express myself more openly about what happened without fear of reprisal from her. I don't have the time to get into the details at the moment, but I'll return and post more here tonight. Documented facts, not hearsay, therefore not grounds for defamation by her.

Some of it is still best not be public, as I've had my civil rights violated and subjected to corruption by the authorities in Maricopa County. I've been legally advised to wait until I've moved out of AZ before I disclose information of that. There may be criminal investigations and lawsuits pending. If you are curious, best to PM me.

Meantime, I have a recent post with some details for now....
