Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't know how I didn't notice that. Is your seat height adjusted correctly?

actually, now that I look, they may just be REALLY small. Judging off the wheels it's a really small frame. Might be the smallest they make and then the person's legs were still too short for a proper fit so they have the saddle low. Must make it hard to reach the bars though. I'd love to see a picture of them on the bike.

A race bike with 2 inches of seatpost showing and 0 saddle to bar drop generally isn't the right size (or the right type of bike). It's possible it's the best non-custom fit they could get, but I doubt it's a proper fit like that, unless they have some seriously strange proportions.

Not everybody wants a pro fit, even on a bike like that. There's plenty of room in the stem for bar drop, too.

Ha! I was wondering who you were and meant to ask you your name before you took off. Thanks for the compliments on the bike.

My Cannondale Synapse (carbon) Record SI Compact that I built and talked about on another thread:
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...=#post11137327

It is a really comfortable bike for riding long distances but also has quite a bit of zip to her. I am considering another build in the near future however and I think I will go more pure racing geometry this time. I will never get rid of the Synapse though. Love it!

Very nice. Lighter than my '02 Giant OCR. I should get one too, should save me nearly 5lbs.

One thing I noticed, the valve stems are crooked, maybe some tension on the inner tubes?

Thanks! To answer your questions...

- It was a little pricey. (You can pretty much price it out based on the picture)
- I did the final assembly, I bought major chunks between two shops, pedals from a third, and the Garmin 705 from REI.
- Weight is right around 13.4 pounds without the Garmin Head unit; 13.7 with it on.

It's coming in right around 18lbs. I need to figure out how to shave some weight off this thing

Brandon:
switch your Ultegra wheels for SOUL S3.0SL wheels (252g/0.55lb. savings) $470
idk what groupset that is, but the SRAM Rival grouppo weighs only 2275g, but also costs $800

even if you just buy the SOUL wheels, itll still bring it down to 17.5lb.
