Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Same old bike, new wheels. It's a Fuji SL-1 with SRAM Rival, it was stock until I got the new ROL d'huez wheels.

A sneak peek...

Can't cable yet, I'm waiting on a stem. New cockpit is Ritchey Pro stuff, the bars being the new EvoCurve bars. They're VERY close to the Ergonovas in shape. I like them. The silver 5700 looks like it was made for the frame....a drivetrain shot. Whatcha think?

Great looking bike. Are the wheels the 420s? how do you like them? fairly light for aero wheels, interested in your feedback, as I'm contemplating getting them. Do you have the hub with ceramic bearings?

Scott CR1

Just joined the group and thought I'd post a pic of my current road bike, a 2009 Scott CR1 XXL. Not super-fancy but light and stiff and fits me great. This is my second CR1 after up-sizing from a 58cm/XL.

The Basso is so cool I was ready to sell it. It can go on the group rides which the big 753 keeps up with. The Atala I plan to value-add graphics; it boasts future geometry from the era when all bikes had parallel head-seat angles. The French pickup truck appears in one of these, which were hard to put up; no preview.

Just picked up a set of Ksyrium Elites on eBay to replace the Rolf Vectors. Hell, might as well go ahead and do it now.

Hopefully my stem arrives tomorrow and I can get the bike all done, except for the wheel swap when they arrive. I think I'll save the Rolfs for now as backups and use the rear with the trainer tire.
