If i recall correctly mine was around 18.7 or 18.8 without the pedals or cages when i first got it. (also sized 56)
I took about a pound out of it swapping the parts out, and added it back with pedals, cages, chain catcher. It's around 18.8 now.
I upgraded as follows:
Lightweight tubes (about 40g lighter per wheel = (-80g)
Swapped to my preferred saddle (-35g)
Zipp Contour SL SS Carbon handlebar (-126g)
Selle Italia Smootape Corsa + bar plugs (matches saddle) (-100g) - FYI those cannondale bar plugs weigh in around 30g alone, and mine came with their heavier synapse type tape.
Metallic poutine headset cap + steerer reduction (-34g)
Zipp Service Course SL Seatpost (-62g)
total loss -437g
I added back around 420g between pedals, cages & chain catcher.

scored this forgotten LOOK 555 frame from rafters of friends bike shop when he moved to larger location. super bro hookup.
he built it up with my old rival group, some takeoff ultegra stoppers, FSA SLK light carbon cranks, my easton ea90s, parts bin FSA bars and easton stem and the carbon post from his devinci leo. conti 4000 tires, lizard skins, my flite ti and old ATAC pedals(deal with it). havent weighed it yet but it feels way lighter than the sum of those parts would imply, im guessing sub 17. gotta chop the resale b oner.

Why were you interested in the Sportif over the Roubaix? Both have a relaxed geometry, the Sportif more so than the Roubaix, but not too far off.
The Roubaix is about 5lbs lighter, is a 10spd (as opposed to the Sportif's 8spd), and has better components. Personally, I'd say you did just fine with the Roubaix.

The Sportif is Fuji's Intro Endurance line, and Roubaix is Fuji's intro racing line. My advice would be to go back and road test the Sportif for at least a few miles to determine if it is a better fit for you. If you like the Sportif frame more then the Roubaix, then get a Sportif. You might want to consider the Fuji Sportif 1.3 C - 2014 (I'm guessing you're shopping at Performance Bikes, so even if they don't have this bike in stock, they can order it, and it will be in, in about a week). It is the most similar version (or better) to the Roubaix that you have. The 9 speed Sportif is $750. The 1.3 C is a Tiagra 10-speed for $799.

As a newbie myself (50+; Clyde), I figured that I won't be racing for quite a while. I need to lose weight and get my fitness up before I even consider racing. The more relaxed geometry is better for me. I even have a hard time getting into the drops on my Sportif (more because of my flexibility and my belly than fit).
Only Fujison can determine which geometry is a better fit for him. And road testing is the only way for him to find out. He has to figure this one out for himself.

Trek is an 89 and converted to brifters (RSX).
Merckx is late 80/early 90 with 2000's Record Titanium/Carbon.
My other bike is a 2010 Specialized Secteur Elite, but I don't have a photo of it.

I recently bought a new road bike after owning my Trek 29r for about a year. I was commuting into work on the Trek and using for off roading but wanted something a little quicker/lighter and able to ride long distances.
So I got an awesome deal on a Lapierre Sensium 200CP and just finished putting it together. Putting it together was fairly easy but as you can see I fudged up on the grip tape so I'll have to redo that sooner or later. I threw on some old pedals I had since my new clipless pedals/shoes haven't arrived yet. I can't wait to start riding this thing more then around the block.
