Skeleton, do I remember you posting that same rig a year or
two ago and getting majorly flamed for it? Anyway, I think it's pretty excellent, so don't listen to them.

Very nice ralleh. I pretty much got a similar deal with my 99 Kona Kapu. It needed some work, but for full Ultegra and Dura Ace mix, you can't go wrong with that price.
Beautiful!

I finally get to post mine. It's been about a 2 year process, but I'm finally done. I've attached a before and after shot. The only original parts are the frame, headset and handlebars. I'm still under $1000 on the build, and that includes a set of wheels I just ebay'd.

ALOT! This and a Dahon Cadenza are my daily rides - 300 days per year.
Living in Vancouver, we riders need to find ways to cope with rain and wet roads in the fall, winter, and spring. Fenders make a ride more manageable year round in the rain. And a luggage bag carries rain gear and food etc more comfortably than overloading the back pockets of my jersey.
Personally, my rides (car, motorcycle, and bikes) are never about fashion and flash. For me, I want vehicles that perform like Ferrari (carbon frame, etc), rugged like Hummer (fender), and convenient like SUV (bag and rack). The Cervelo (or any decent road bike - properly outfitted) meets those specifications, IMHO.

I just got this the other day and finished putting it together this afternoon. Went for a little ride today and realized that I need a different seat so I have the Selle San Marco Skn Pro on the way. Overall, i'm feeling pretty good about the purchase.

Every few years I will venture out of the little dirt world here on BF and post something in the roadie section. Well, this is one of those times, last time was a few years ago with my 928 120th Anniversary Bianchi and this time ....

1) Why do ppl insist on de-stickering their rims? is it a status thing? or is there some practical reason for it? or looks?
2) What's wrong with colored tires? if nothing is wrong, then why do people insist on getting all black tires? what's the deal folks?

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
2) Personal preference.
