I think he needs pedals before he should worry about bottle cages!

I haven't really met anyone who likes the Ponza, the nose actually is higher than the tail of the saddle, and it's all wrong.
Try a Fizik or some of the classic San Marco line (Concor, Rolls, Regal)

I didn't like the Ponza that came on my CAAD8, either. I put on an Arione straight away, and actually liked it pretty well. I have a Brooks Swift on it now, and I might keep it.

Lovin' the Cannondales!
Scored this one on eBay, she'll be the newest addition to the family. Should make a rad criterium bike.
2006 Six13 Team BB30 model.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
No wonder...
I gave it an honest try, or at least what I thought was one -- took note of how it felt during the test rides, etc. It just didn't fit well with my butt.
Eh, no biggie; I've seen so many different saddles out there that I can't honestly say what's comfortable for anyone. Durability issues, maybe, but those come down to either factory defects or simple abuse.

If you really want to find the best saddle for you, one option would be competitive cyclist's saddle demo program. For $75 they will send you their 11 best-selling saddles and you get to ride them for a week. If you choose to buy a saddle from them within 30 days, they'll credit $35 toward the purchase. I have the exact same bike and ride a Specialized Toupe. This isn't one of the demo saddles, but out of 11, I'm sure you could find one you like. Or you could ask a local shop that sells specialized saddles to test one out. I can't suggest which saddle would be best for you, but if you don't like the Ponza, I can tell you it should go. An uncomfortable saddle could keep you from riding which would be tragic.

My Old Bike
This is my 1962 Follis, with some upgrades that have made it - as the mechanic at my LBS put it - "a nice mix, like people in the U.S."
Originally all French, I've made some changes over the years. Cottered cranks were ditched in favor of a Sugino drivetrain. Whatever the saddle was, it's long gone (although I still have the original Mavic tool kit that came with the bike). Hubs are 1976 vintage Phil Woods and I picked up the French Super Champions rims perhaps a decade or more ago. At the moment I'm riding it with toe clips; sometimes I switch to clipless.
The Follis still boasts the original bars, Beborex brakes and brake levers, friction downtube rear de. shift lever, and the "suicide shifter."

^^^ Neat bike. Interesting brake cable routing. Wouldn't running your rear cable in front of the bar make for a much smoother run?
