I love the Folis, but I can't help thinking that the when the frame was made and the cable routing was brazed on, that it was destined for the front brake to be on the right lever, and the rear on the left.

My recent resprayed 005 TCR 0 comp frame. Frame was lightly (and very carefully) sanded to raw carbon, then black tinted clear, striping added, and finally a slight gold pearl clear to finish off.

Correct. The brakes were originally set up as you speculate. How and/or why I changed the routing, or even when, and whether I did it myself or had a bike mechanic do it, is lost to the mists of time. Perhaps I did it when I purchased a new bike in the mid-70s, and wanted to standardize the way the brakes on both bikes worked.
I've thought about putting the cables back the way they belong, but I might be too old to be able to handle the change, if only because of the set-up of my other bikes.

My new build and my first carbon bike. I got the frame for a winter project and just finished assembling it last night. Took it out for a test ride this morning and it was so smooth. It's a pleasure to ride and with this new machine it's going to be a high milege year.

^^^ Sweet Merlin. Did you buy the frame new or used? I've seen a few used Merlin CF frames on eBay and thought about snapping one up. You say it rides smoothly. What were you riding previously?

Thanks for all the compliments. It's a shame the tyres and tape will lose that bright colour very quickly. The new bike look never lasts longer than one ride.
Icyclist, I see you are a fan of yellow and blue on your bike too. You can't go wrong with that combo.
Now if only the weather could warm up enough to make a serious effort on my high "kilometerage" year.

I didn't know what I was missing until I borrowed my uncle's LeMonde. After that I had to get a road bike - there was no question. Then, later on, I became even more obsessed and made some upgrades. It's about a year and a half old.

I always like seeing someone with a KHS. I used to be a KHS dealer back when I was part-owner of a bike shop. KHS is one of the under-rated bike companies, IMO. At least around here.
