Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It is flipped...the way I like it. I have a bad back, scoliousis, and it's got to be up. I think the angle of the photo makes it look a little more extreme.

I feel naked without a mirror, although I don't like the design much.

I have to have the cellphone where I can hear it. I might switch the holder for a smaller one. Too much sweat in the FL summer for the jersey.

Silver rules red drools...ha ha ha!

Put it in a ziplock. That's what I do. My cell phone (Blackberry 8830, so non-flip) goes inside a small ziplock and then inside my middle pocket. I can use all the buttons and my track ball, and also talk, through the zip lock if needed.

Lemond Croix de Fur

I put together another bike for this summer. Its a 5 year-old Lemond Croix de Fur frame (from ebay), shimano 105 componants and new Mavic Cosmic Elite wheels. This heat-treated Ox-Platnium frame is really light. I'm very happy.

This is my first bike. Pic is from the guy who sold it to me, and he must have preferred his saddle that way. It's a Cannondale Criterium from the mid-eighties with a full Shimano 105 group. Biopace rings.

This is the new ride. Just finished building it last night. I think I got pretty lucky with all the donated parts. It's a CAAD8 R1000 frame. Assorted mix of components, including Ultegra STI levers, 105 RD, Tiagra FD, Truvativ Rouleur crank with a GXP BB.

What a sweet ride. That's an unusual color scheme and the wheel decals and pedals really set it off. Really tasteful graphics. Awesome. Thanks for the post.

I've had my Pro Machine for 15 months (12000 + km). I knew it would handle well but I hadn't realised how comfortable it would be. I've had full carbon before and this is up there with the best. I still think it's the best looking bike out there and I always look forward to riding it.

I just picked up my new Trek 2.3 from the LBS:

I took off the rear reflector. It looks warm in this picture, but it's actually about 20 degrees (f) and windy. Can't wait for a little bit nicer weather!

Thanks. No missile speeds or flying due to my limitations. And minimal rides so far due to an injury. But all feels pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to being healed and pushing it a bit more.

It's an Alare, I think it's the 08" Model but I know it's a step down from your model.
