Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Always loved that lugged 531 d/b Raleigh Professional frameset with the Campagnolo Nuevo Record group, especially in that color blue.

You may not like the look of the "waves", but you cannot beat the way they ride.

15+ years old, but I like it. Except for the Al fork that I hope to switch out for CF soon.

The CAAD8 was stripped again. It now has Campy Record 10 on it and Torelli carbon wheels. Waiting for a Record rear derailleur to go on sale at Ochsner or J&B....

A couple of updates to my ride. A Fizik Arione and some new white bar tape. Here she is, all cleaned up, ready to head to the MS150 (which turned out to be the MS70):

After 5 flats during the MS70 (all rear), that white bar tape isn't exactly white anymore...

I have this one and I wish I could keep it but it is too big for me! It is a 54cm top tube / sloping geometry... and it is no longer made. Have a tommasini tecno now and my bike on the way is a Tommasini FIRE (cross geometry)

You should probably learn how to change a flat properly. 5 flats on the same tire in one ride isn't bad luck, it's user error. I'm surprised you even had enough tubes. Did you start patching them? I'm guessing the last 4 were all pinch flats from getting the tube pinched when putting it on.

The cool thing about customs like that is that never get "old".....really really nice ride. Beautiful.
