Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think I remember a discussion about that bike. As far as I can recall it's a Project One bike.

Nice Moots, I have heard good stuff about Moots from several friends.

A friend of mine, former pro cyclist who has has been in pro level cycle circles for 30 years, was at Interbike East in Providence RI this past week. I asked him to try out a Lynskey or two if he could.

He said:

" They had no Lynskey's at Providence...
I rode a bunch of carbon road bikes and then rode a Moots and it was the best ride of the day."

FINALLY FINISHED! This bike is so fun!
I've got a bunch of high-end rubber coming in tomorrow and at the end of the week. Mud tires, training tires, dry tires and all-around tires.

Is that a new Bianchi Pista?

How do you like it? I've been thinking about it too much.

My new road bike came in today from overseas!!

Question though: The shifting is a bit unsmooth. Are bikes supposed to be tuned out of the box?

Brakes and derailleurs always need some adjusting out of the box, and usually the wheels need a bit of truing.

nope, but you asking that makes me want to suggest you taking it to a LBS to get it checked out (assembly as well)

yeah, for sure. Especially since the front brake pad that we can see is at a really bad angle, and probably braking on the tire instead of the rim.

Don't ride the bike anymore, take it to a shop. Braking on the tire can lead to a blowout and a crash.

To be fair I work at a Specialized, Serotta, Bmc, Ridley etc......shop and I just wait for the end of the year closeouts. I really do not have very much into that Roubaix at all but yea, it is way to nice to be a rain bike..........

I'm gald to see that you're still rocking the 7800. It looks good with that frame.

After riding 7900 for a little while, I came to the conclusion that if I couldn't get it for a killer deal on a new bike, I would just buy a frameset and put my trusty old 7800 on there.

I am going to hold out for the 8000 series (guessing at the number) I am not real impressed by the 7900 either and to be honest I have yet to ride any group that I prefer over 7800 and that includes Record and Red.
