A Toupe observation...
This isn't another Toupe thread about the saddle, but more an interesting thing that I have noticed with mine. I must have one skinny butt with no padding because when I got off the bike, after a ride, I can clearly see my sit bone impressions in the saddle. I guess that explains why they are sore during my rides. I started with a 143, which was too wide, and now have a 130. Each ride I do it gets better so I think my butt is breaking in, but I digress here because there is a point to this post. The odd thing that I noticed is that the sit bones are not inline with each other. My right one is a good 3/8 of an inch (15mm) behind my left one. Could this be a set-up issue or is more related to tightness in certain muscles or a muscle imbalance?? Anyone have an idea. I'm siding on tightness or muscle imbalance, since my right hip-flexor has caused me problems in the past. If that is the case what the heck can I do about it to get my body inline once again.

No clue how on point this is, but when I was a teen I went to a chiropractor and while on the table he pointed out that my one leg was longer than the other. Apparently this came from my hips not being level because my spine wasn't aligned. So, maybe you need to see a chirpractor? I don't believe I ever went back so I guess my one leg is still longer than the other. After my next ride I'm gonna look for sit bone imprints on my toupe and see if they're even.

And I think people unconsciously shift their weight to one cheek or the other. Could be you shifting your weight to the preferred cheek.

just like we are "right handed" or left handed, we have a dominant leg as well. Our hips end up ajusting accordingly, it is common to have the seat slightly tilted toward the dominant leg (like centimeter or so)
also make sure your cleats are at he same settings on the shoes

I have a standard (non-gel) Toupe and I will see the indentions of my sit bones in the surface of the saddle after a ride. My butt is not a particularly skinny or bone-y one so count that out as a reason.

I actually angle my saddle a degree or two to the left, because that ends up being more comfortable for me. Otherwise, it feels like half my butt is falling off the front.
