Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Alriiiight First Fall!

Well I'm doing my sprint against the win to realllly get that extra umph burn! Do a little speed check on the comp and BOOM! Little weiner dog runs right in front of me. Did a little "OH GOD!" and went straight on over. Luckily there was a witness there to see it all happen. Gotta admit though I feel reallly bad for that pup. No idea who's dog it was since it ran way off down the street. Anyways I've got a little problem. My brake/gear component thing/part that's connected to the handlebar is twisted inward towards the stem. Do these things rotate? I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can. Btw bike is an Ocr3.

I did that when I was about 7 years old, on my blue bike with the basket and banana seat. I was riding with my Dad and a weiner dog ran out in front of me. I didn't see it in time, and all I could do was run it over---bump bump! The dog went "Yipe yipe yipe!" and ran back into its yard, but it was ok. I cried I'm still a softie.

The short answer is yes. Probably you just need to loosen it, rotate it back into position, and tighten it. With some luck, there won't be any other damage to the lever.
