Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How much is it worth?

Good morning all,

I was talking to a guy at work who cycles. He is in his 50s and pretty active.
He mentioned to me that he has a Waterford, in red white and blue "team colors" "all Dura Ace".
Its 60cm frame and from what I could gather he used to race a little (his "race bike") but he has not ridden it at all in awhile.
Id guess its less than 5 years old but Im not sure.

How much would it be worth?

It's all relative.

I bought a gorgeous, mint 1997 Waterford 2200 earlier this week. Full DA 8 speed, Ksyrium SSC-SL wheels, Chris King headset and more - all without a scratch. I would have put the value at around $1500 - 1750.

But I didn't pay that. I paid what the owner wanted, which was about 1/2 that.

And that's what it was worth.

It would help if we knew more about the age, but it's probably worth a good grand at least if it's in good shape. Those were top notch frames and top of the line components.
