...and I thought my Tarmac was quick...(rode a 595)
I rode a teammates Look 595 Elite last night...what a mistake...I want one!!!
I was really taken back at how much quicker and stiffer it felt. I got back on my Tarmac and it felt like I was driving a tuna boat! However, I will say that the Tarmac is ALOT more comfy. But the 595 was definately quicker up and down hills and it sprints like a champ. The "flickability" of that frame is insane!
Kudos to the designers and engineers at LOOK!
That is all...

I dislike posts like this. I like my Tarmac and would like to keep liking it for years to come. Please don't bankrupt me by telling me there's something better.
For the love of God, please don't.

However, I have ridden an SL and yes it is quite a bit qucker than my non-SL Tarmac. It definately compares better to the 595. The 595 just seemed "whippier." If that makes sense...

I have never heard anybody not like a Look frame so I had to try one. As soon as I did, I bought one.

A Calfee Tetra Pro was the best CF bike I'd ridden, until I rode a Colnago C50.
The Colnago C50 was the best CF frame I'd ever ridden until I tried a Parlee Z2.
That Parlee Z2 was the best CF frame I'd ever ridden, until I picked up a Look 595 this past spring. Now that's a CF bike.
My Look 595 was the best CF frame I'd ever ridden, until I picked up a custom Crumpton SL. That bike is the best CF bike I've ever ridden, hands down.
When does it stop?

I've been slowly upgrading parts on my Tarmac Expert in lieu of buying a new bike or frame. I figure that'll satiate my desire this year to buy a new bike.
It's posts like this that make me question my wisdom in doing that.

Sorry UT...I wish i never rode the damn thing...Now I'm in the same boat as you....
I hate to say it, but it really put my Tarmac to shame.

Terry I'm curious: why do you run 120 mm length stem when you have a custom frame? Some about the way that it handles with a relatively longer stem?
