Wal-Mart carbon fiber bikes?!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

True, but for $1800, I'd much rather go to a roadie shop and get a real bike from a real shop and support them... not to mention you could get a "last years" model with way better parts and a frame you actually heard of for about the same $$$

Italian mechanics?!?! FOR REAL?!?! YES!!! Those are so much better than those damn German mechanics.
It's premium? Right out of the box?! YES!!!
What do they mean pedals aren't included?! All the other bikes in the walmart have pedals. I want to see the manager.

Hmmm, the people who need to watch this are the bikesdirect folks. I would imagine that wal-mart could leverage quite a deal on mid range bikes (with or w/o Italian mechanics; I wonder if they ship the bikes to Italy or ship the Italians to China, but I digress) made of pretty much any frame material they choose and any level of Shimano components they want...the Schwinn name they can obviously use and that already leads many people to think they are getting a "genuine Schwinn"; I wonder how many other high end, but defunct names they could acquire as Bikesdirect has done...

Is it just me, or is there something wrong about hanging a Shimano gruppo on an Italian frame? They should change their name to Fred-Mart.

Now you're assuming that it really is an Italian frame.

Hmmm.... is there a town in China named Italy? Wouldn't surprise me...

I don't think that frame is really Italian, Corsa is the word "carbon" translated into Taiwanese.
