Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Disco Dancing Shoes

I decided it was time to get some new dancing shoes. I ended up with a pair of Sidi Genius 6.6 Carbons. These shoe are fast looking just standing still. All I have to say is a person better be ready to bring it while wearing something as fast, hot and flashy looking as these.

While I was at it I thought the bikes could use some new dancing shoes as well. I picked up a pair of Reynolds DV46 Carbon Tubular wheels, with a hand full of Continental Competition Tubulars with the Chili compound rubber.

Now I just need to finish gluing up the tires, wait for my new Cassette and Look Carbon/Titanium Keos to show up.

I had a great 60Km ride tonight as well! It was one of those rides were we all rode hard, ran a tight and fast echelon, sprinted for markers, pushing hard for everyone else was

6 in our group ride tonight.

Nice. I had decided on the Ergo then realized if I'm going to spend $400+ on shoes I may as well go full bore and some D2 customs. I have their fit kit in hand already.

Nice to see an Argon - I love those frames and we don't see many down south.

Nice Sidi's - beautiful. Are they a new model? I love my white Energy 2's - got them for Christmas but just started breaking them in.

And...tell us more about the wheels - going on the Litespeed or something new?

Thanks Gang!

Rad, the shoes are the new for 07 6.6 Genius, although Sidi still offers the 5.5 Genius as well.

As for the Wheels, I have been wanting a set of them for some time. My plans are to just play with them, but you know me too well Rad... Like you I'm always actively seeking that new project to put them on, just haven't found something that I'm sure I really want.

Out club has some very nice Agrons. I like Nathan's the best!

Dubbayoo, I was considering the Ergo 2, but I'm not crazy about the 3 different closing mechanisms, and I liked the color combo the most of the 6.6G's. Enjoy your D2's

greyg8r, I rode that 60kms with out gloves as well Even though I had a set in my back pocket, I try to ride with out gloves when ever I can. I like the feel and tactility with out them.

Yeah, you're right, the ends of the hooks are supposed to point up, at the rider, while the levers point at the ground...

His position would look better and his back would probably feel better if the bars were corrected...

I'm not saying I'm right at all.... (so there's no need for rolling your eyes) for we are all different, and we all like what we like. I just don't make it my business to go around telling others how I think they should be set up unless they ask, and especially when he can drop me any day of the week.

If it bothers you so much, I'll give you Frank's email, and you can tell him how in your opinion he could be much faster. It would sound better coming from you, as he would just laugh at me as he dropped me

Besides, what do I care how he is set up? It's no skin off my back, I'm here to show off my new Double set of Disco dancing shoes, why you choose to focus on that is beyond me

I'm still waiting for my 6.6's. So far there have been three screw ups with the order. Hopefully they make it here today or tomorrow though. I originally ordered them over a month ago.

Sweet! I found some nice looking carbon Nikes, at the Trek store for a very killer price, but once you go Sidi, there is no going back. Found a BF'er with some 5.5's, so he hooked me up. Mine old ones are starting to show some age, but still feel great, just finished the RAIN ride (160 miles) without a hot spot or single foot problem.
