Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Extra Long Bar Tape?

I'm installing the Aztec 'pillows' and would like something longer than the Deda tape that I had on hand. Are any of the common off the shelf bar tapes known to be longer? Or do I just need to use a stretchy tape? How 'bout Cinelli? Thanks in advance!

Specialized tape is long. Whatever you do, don't buy Fizik if you need a long roll. I've seen guitar strings with less tension on them than the Fizik tape job I did on my Tarmac recently.

I presume you are concerned that adding diameter due to padding will reduce coverage. Deda tape comes pretty long and I prefer it to Cinelli. For me there is no value added by putting padding under the tape. If the bike fits properly there isn't that much pressure on the handlebar that can't be managed with a good foam tape. I ride 46 O-t-O bars and just about any tape is long enough.

candy stripe it for more length (even if you use the same color so no one can tell). But, you gotta buy two packs for that. That's the best way to get thick enough coverage with ZERO worries on length... especially if you are already worried and adding padding.
