Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I Love You Guys...

Another example of why BF is the best forum ever:

Recently bought a Garmin Edge 305. Was happy to have gotten what seemed like a great price at the time :$254 w/HRM delivered. (Had I shopped more I would have gotten it for ~$20 less from Geoman).

A few weeks later, a BF member (byte_speed) posts a new thread with great news: there is a $75 rebate on the Edge. That was a well-kept secret as in all my shopping I had seen nor heard nothing nowhere about any rebate... But indeed there was, and thanks to byte_speed (and Bike Forums), me and the cats will soon be $75 richer....

And a salute to Geoman (a Garmin vendor and BF member): I think after he saw that thread he emailed all his customers the rebate information...

Thanks guys! *sniff*

Holy crap! So after rebate, you got a $180 Edge 305?! Now THAT is a good price. I've seen the 205 selling for more than that.

I have to agree....I know that Garmin has something new coming down the pike, but $180 for a proven piece of tasty technology is worth it IMHO....

....now....to get the wife to agree......

Nah...she wanted that, but alas I talked her out of it....Oh well...she never checks the books anyway. But she does notice packages showing up, and would notice a GPS being moved between the office and the bike.....

Dudes..I don't just make sh*t up..

The rumors are that Garmin is developing a 405 with cycleOps -the device will use Google maps directly and have power readings.
