Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Modolo Morphos brake/shift levers

Has anybody ever tried these Modolo Morphos Brake/Shift Levers? I'm trying to change my Paramount MTB with 21-speed Shimano drivetrain into more of a commuter with drop bars, etc., and have the opportunity to pick up a set of these for relatively cheap. I just don't know if they function like crap or if they're actually decent. I certainly don't need race quality, but just need decent reliability more than anything.

Any clue about these?

They work with everything, but not well. If you can live with sloppy shifting on your commuter rig, then they are okay...

I was gonna buy them a year ago. Until I read the reviews, could find a positive one.

I actually just had the stroke of brilliance to check roadbikereview.com. The reviews there don't seem half-bad, actually. Certainly not for a commuter bike, either.
