Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need info on Blackburn trainers.

I want to get a trainer so I can ride when winter comes and for working out during night time. Is this a good trainer? Im planning on getting a fluid trainer.

I have the Blackburn Fluid Trainer. I also have the Cyclops Fluid trainer as well. The Blackburn is good, but I actually like the Cyclops better. The Cyclops method for securing the wheel is quicker (just flick a lever) while with the Blackburn you have to twist the bolt things that press the cups on the end of the skewers. Also, the Cyclops offers more resistance.

Both are very good, but if you think you may be churning out a lot of horsepower now or later, you may want to consider a Cyclops or something equivalent (Kinetic or 1up)

Thanks for the fast reply!

Im as noob as it can get. I defiantly will not be producing much hp at first. I plan to do more riding in the day time but when I do not get a chance, I will hop on the trainer. If the release of the blackburn is the only problem, thats fine for me. Im probably will never be in that much of a hurry to release my bike of a trainer..

How much should I be paying for one? Im running low on funds since I bought my bike. Thanks!
