CO2 cartridges--where to buy?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

CO2 cartridges--where to buy?

Although I did a search I could find no threads related to this topic. I'm just looking for a source for threaded 16g CO2 cartridges to use with my Innovations inflator. Any ideas?

Call around to local LBSs, that's what I do. I do believe I've seen them at Performance online.

Wal*Mart...assuming you have an Innovations inflator that takes the 12g non threaded. Wal*Mart sells boxes of 12 for paintball guns....I think it is like $5 for the dozen...much better price than the LBS.

I bought a box of CO2 cartridges from Walmart for about $5 about 6 years ago and still haven't used them all up. Much less expensive than bike shops. Just make sure your inflator can handle unthreaded cartridges.

The 16g ones are harder to find. Also try homebrew stores. Several portable tap setups use the 16g carts.

Why would anyone ever by a single or two pack of gas cartridges? If you got a flat would you just wait for your next order to come in before you ride again? Doesn't the shipping cost make it a stupid buy?

Well the 12g do work with my Innovations Second Wind...if that is what you are asking...I specifically looked for one that worked with 12g unthreaded carts.

If you are asking if it fills my tires...no not to full pressure but to a much better level than a flat tire...enough to get home for sure...probably around 90-100 psi. I run 700x23 on one bike, 700x25 on my fix and 700x21 on another bike.

We have more than our fair share of WalMarts here in NY, a few not far from the city.
The cheapest place i can find them in NYC is JackRabbit sports on 14th in union square. They have threaded and non threaded. Some bike shops charge close to $4.00 each here but JR had them for $2.

Very few cartridges are likely used in the course of a year. Give 'em a bone and throw that business to your local bike shop.
