Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Try all. CL first, post an ad here, then go to ebay.

I say if you are happy with the components then I would save and buy a frame that you want and switch the stuff over. If you still want to upgrade alot then throw it on ebay/craigslist.

sell it on the boards here, most likely you'll get more than you would on craigslist.

You could always cut your legs off from the knees down and ride it! :-p

How much smaller is it? The Giant 50cm frame is really a M, and it's not really comparable to a "regular" 50cm. The frame is a compact frame, so the seat tube is short due to the sloping top-tube.

Go to Giant's side, and see how long the Top-Tube is, I think it's in the mid-50s if my memory is correct. This probably isn't too far off from a top-tube that you'll find on a 56cm. I think you might be able to make it work with the seatpost raised, and a longer stem.

Okay, I just checked, it has a 55cm top-tube. A Trek 56cm only has a 56.2 cm top tube (with the 54cm having a 54.2 top-tube).

Don't let the 50cm fool you, you should be able to make it work with a longer stem. At worse, you're probably one size too small (perhaps a Giant L would have fit better than the M), but hopefully well within the range of getting the bike to fit.

I'm on a giant 500mm OCR3 right now and it's a bit small for me too.

I'm planning on selling mine if I can, but it's not impossible for me to make it fit. I just had to raise the seat to around the "2" indicator on the giant seatpost.

Even us "Smaller riders have to do this.

Lay back seat post and longer bar stem will go a long way to correcting but not that amount- Sell it and get a better fitting bike. This is a 42 and I should have got a 46, but I personally like a small frame.
