Has anyone purchased items directly from Specialized?
I know there has been a lot of talk about places like Nashbar and Performance. Has anyone purchased items from the store on the Specialized website? How was the experience (ease of ordering, shipping, returns if necessary)? I am interested in getting one of their discontinued road stems. Thanks for your help!

I've ordered gloves from them before, with no problems. Great deal, ordering/shipping with no problems. Most online LBS sites that stock Specialized don't ship, so this is one of the only ways to buy their gear online. All in all, a good experience.

You can usually find their stuff cheaper in the store, although if it's something that's close-out, maybe not. You might ask your LBS if they can get the specific item and save shipping charges, but don't count on it since the LBS won't want to wind up with a NOS stem (in my mind, this is one thing that will separate a great LBS from an ordinary one).
In short: no worries.

Last year I bought some BG S-Works BOA shoes from their website. I had a pretty good experience when do so…
The shoes I bought ended up being defective, one shoe size was smaller than the other one and it’s sole had a bad glue job done on it… crazy luck :{ . The shoes were kind of a let down but when dealing with Specialize regarding returning the shoes for a refund was far from a let down. The Specialized Rep. was pleasant and made the issue of returning the shoes hassle free ...

I've had good experiences with them. I got a pair of winter gloves that were defective. Didn't notice until I had trouble bending one little finger after I had taken the tags off etc. They took them back, sent me a new pair and paid shipping.
I've found some good closeouts on helmets there that are cheaper than at my LBS. The only downside is that they charge a flat shipping rate per order, so while I need to get replacement pads for my helmet (mine are disintegrating from washing), I have to wait until I need something bigger and more expensive to justify the shipping cost. I can't seem to get the helmet pads from my LBS .

Bought a computer on clearance direct from Specialized. Could not understand why the shipping was so high until the thing arrived with 10 pounds of catalogs enclosed. Get it from the dealer if one is near.

I bought a bunch of Specialized bottles, and they shipped them very quickly. I could not find what I wanted elsewhere, and their price was reasonable. I recommend them.

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them. Expecting a tire from them today. One thing I don't care for is when I order something and they send me their large catalog. This thing had to kill 3 trees. It weighs about 5 pounds. Nice, but damn, email me a link to a PDF. Their items and shipments are great though. Great company.

I bought an Alias Saddle from them. When I got it I thought they must have sipped the wrong thing. The Box weighed about 10 pounds. To my suprise, it had my saddle and 9 pounds of catalogs. (don't get me wrong, the shipping cost was reasonable).

I've purchased from them. You will pay list prices, but the service is excellent.
Their return policy is also excellent. I tried a new tire and asked them if after I tried it I couldreturn it. They said their policy was 100% satisfaction so I could ride them and return them if not pleased. I was very satisfied with my purchase so I didn't take advantage of it, but it's there if you need it.

i've gotten a couple things from their site in the past have had no complaints or problems. The only drawback is the old catalogs that they enclose in the package. Other than that all is good.
