Help for a new saddle, i'm scared of...
i'm out for a new saddle, kinda nervous as i intend to try an <uncomfortable> one -for my standards -this time. San Marco Magma white caught my eye, mostly the style, as i know nothing else of it. I'd sure appreciate any rider's experience on that particular saddle. I've searched BF but almost nothing helpful in only 3 posts . Does that mean it's not a seller or that it's just fresh in the market?
I'm 190 lbs, participating in long distance activities (like brevets), never raced so far. My previous saddles have all been of the extra foamy ones, including a very light one (carbon 165 gr) that unfortunately wore out on top though the CF body is ok. This latter saddle served me perfectly in all my activities but i can't find a replacement no matter where i look (Setlaz Quantum). So, unwilling to go heavier than 200gr for a new extra comfy saddle i thought what the hell, time to take to the wild side and see if i survive on this San Marco beauty.
Thanks for your help guys!

no reply, definately not a popular saddle... it finally arrived today and i sat on it for a 90min test ride.
First impressions of a quite surprising comfort! i think i'll wait till my first 3 hour ride to reach a solid conclusion. But, no more prejudice against non-cushioned saddles!

i just got one about a month ago, and i had the same feeling you did--hardly any info on it anywhere. it replaced my alias 143, and is a bit narrower for sure. the biggest difference i've found is that it is pretty tricky to get the angle right with. too up and it puts the sort of sharp side edges in your thighs and too down and you slide down. still trying to get it right. aside from that it's some sexy bling and fine comfort-wise even on a little longer rides (though i admit not going over 70 miles yet)

not that this opinion will help at all, but I think I'd love fully metal top saddle. I like a slick saddle, and I think that would fit the bill...

I'm thinking of one of these also, along with a regal and arione.
Probably down to the magma and regal.
have any of you guys used both?
