Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wrench Science

Has anyone configured and bought a bike through wrenchscience? Would like to give my LBS the biz but between sales tax and the best they can do they are off by about $800. If you used WS - were you able to make any component trades for sizing after the purchase? Where you able to talk to a human? Did you get support? Did the bike come as expected - ready to ride or "some assembly required"? Experiences - good or bad please.

Thanks!

I bought my colnago through them. I'm local to them so I went to the store for a fit session before we ordered the bike. No issues with the fit of the bike and I love it. I did have a few annoying back and forth exchanges with them as we hammered out exactly what handlebars would be available. My advice would be to call them on the phone rather than trying to use email to communicate.

take the time with a partner to go through each stage of the WS sizing system. having done this, you will effectively eliminate the need to return/exchange components due to improper sizing, after your purchase --if you've measured yourself correctly, the sizing calculator will only allow components whose measurements fit your own.

call them, toll free after you've built out and saved your bike. one of the sales reps will be more than happy to help you realize your dream bike.

aside from bars/stem, pedals, seat/post --all of which need to be taken off in order to be properly and safely shipped, your bike will come fully carefully packed and boxed, assembled and ready to ride.
