Continental GT4000 defect?

So I ordered two GT4000 tires from probikekit. Both have these two small dimples in the thread. Is this normal?

If you look at the bop of one of the leafs inside the box it shows these. They are to show you when the tire is worn and needs to be replaced.
Enjoy those tires, they are great.
