is advertised as the 04 model but checking the giant website it doesnt seem to match component wise or looks wise (possible upgraded components)

Well to start with its an aluminium frame, not composite. Right there on the seat tube is say's SL ALLUX and ALLUX is what Giant calls its aluminium frames. Also I'm not familiar with the UK model lineup but in Australia we did get a Campag equiped model which was called a EURO.

From the Giant Australian website archive. It looks like a 2002 year TCR 1. The Australian model has a Shimano groupset but I suspect that a UK market bike would have been sold with Campagnolo.
