Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Help me out!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehehehehe

I know its early, but if I don't put my order in early, I get stuff I don't really want.

Pedals. I had a pair and liked them a lot. Wish I had stuck with them. Saddles don't mean much to me because my bike fits and my ***** is compatible with lots of different ones.

OK, since it's for another woman.... Id pick pedals UNLESS she tried and decided on that saddle herself.

No, I just try and keep Christmas spending to a minimum on myself. I used to go hog wild at Christmas, but anymore I'm happy with one present that I could use. Its funny, I don't mind spending on others, but on myself is a different story. I feel funny when someone else spends on me.

Take Care and Be Safe,

Ask for a Garmin Edge 305! That would definitely be a winner!

What pedals do you currently use?

Is your saddle uncomfortable now?

Have you ridden this saddle and like it or are you taking a leap of faith?

My saddle is ok for about 30 miles then, it starts getting a bit hard on the hind end. I've never used this SLK saddle, just going off of what I've read about it. My saddle now is the stock Butt Ranger saddle that came on my Trek.

I have Ritchey MTB pedals now that have about 4 degrees of float. I have and have had knee problems and I read that the pedals have about 20 degrees of float and thought they'd be easier on my knees.

I haven't rode in about 3 weeks or so now because I have a piece of bone floating around in my knee and its giving me fits. I'm going to have to have my knee scoped in a few weeks. I hurt it playing volleyball.

See ya,

Ray

I'm thinking I'll probably ask for some new clothing. A nice pair of chamois shorts or quality jerseys aren't cheap, but they're right around a decent price for a gift.

Aren't those the mountain bike pedals? do you use these pedals on two bikes, or only have mountain style shoes? Or do you just prefer that style of pedal?

I stop and walk sometimes at a store, or sometimes I'll stop in a park and walk a little bit, so I went with mountain bike pedals. There are times I wish I'd have gotten Road pedals though. I guess all in all I'm better off with the MTB pedals though.

I still have block pedals on my mountain bike in case I just want to take a real quick spin and in case someone comes over and wants to go riding with me thats doesn't have all the gear.

See ya,

Ray

Have ya thought about Bebops? I'm looking hard at them and supposedly they can be ridden w/o shoes too!

They get great reviews. . .

I've never heard of them before. I'll do a search here and on Google and see what I come up with.

Thanks,

Ray

I would ask for the saddle for Christmas. It sounds like you are unable to even get out on your bike with the pedals you currently have so you will have to upgrade those yourself (hopefully sooner rather than later) while the saddle can wait a few months.

Good luck with the knee scope.
