Field Repairs to Carbon Frame
A buddy of mine lives in NJ and does the annual Tour De Trees which was in CA this year. On the first day he crashed his Trek Madone and punched a hole in a seat stay.
Give up? Nah, he went to Wal-Mart and bought a 12$ fiberglass kit and patched her up and finished the 600 mile tour.
When he got back home he took the bike to the lbs and it was sent to Trek and they replaced the stay and repainted for 250$.
Lifetime warranty is still in effect.

I saw a show about the annual Iron Butt motorcycle ride. They ride 10,000 miles in 10 days. Crashes are very common as the riders are asleep much of the time in the final days. One guy crashed his bike, had a new one delivered, got on it, crashed that one and finished the ride on a third new bike. Another guy crashed at high speed into a ditch and twisted up the right side of the handlebars. A farmer helped him cut off the damaged h/w with a hacksaw. He finished the last 2 days using a pair of channel locks on the throttle cable.
