Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'd look for a place named Heroes or Rockers or something more uplifting!

That blue looks nice on you by the way.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

The Old Salt! That does sound better than Lamie's. Looks like a nice place from the website. A heck of a long way from me. I used to stay, years ago, along the NH coast. Is that where it is? If so that's beautiful country in the summer. I imagine it is cold and windy in the winter though.

My fault really OP, don't blame her. My last post here, I promise.

Fresno is 30 minutes from the mountains, 2 hours from the beach, 3 hours from SF, 4 hours from LA, and I can ride all year round without even considering the possibility I might lose an ear from the wind and cold!

Now, back to the colorful shorts!

I don't think that I have worn black shorts in a few years. Now that I think of it my son has snagged most of my black shorts for crew practice. I'm into 'blue' and have about 3-4 pairs of bibs that are blue based.

You may not have to worry about losing an ear from the wind and cold but heatstroke is a distinct possibility today.

I got in a lovely 45 miles this morning. It really was a beautiful ride. Sure, it was in the 90's and a little humid by 10:30, but it was lovely when we started at about 7:00 from Reedley College.

You should join us.

Back on topic, and a group of riders powered past me in a pack on a century ride a couple of weeks ago, all wearing strange black and white shorts, with the white bit right up the center. Let's just say it was distressingly easy to see who was wearing underwear under those shorts, and exactly what color it was, not to mention ... well other things I'd really rather not see. Ugly sight.

All my bike shorts are black, and that's the way it will stay.

We recently received our new team kit. In the backside, why did they have to put in that thin yellow strip above the derrier. Sorta thin, but at least it's narrow. The kit is Red/Yellow. Except for that yellow panel in the derrier, nothing more shows than if they were black. Made by Giorrdana. Really Comfortable. Go with pro made brands for a really comfortable ride. - Red/Yellow. -. Really colorful kit. We can pick out our club members from a mile away. That red polish kit. Must be much thiner than our red kit. I see no problem with our red shorts. Same as black, just more colorful.

Try this: www.runningfunky.com. It's mostly running stuff but they do have bike/tri shorts. You can get as wild as you want.
