No they are not. Same hubs, same rims I guess but the spokes are not the same.

kinda...they are hit or miss...like 666 said..
when they bust, and they will, just say you were not happy and want a new set or the credit for your ultg/open pros that you will end up going with and the ones you should really get...
...should get one season out of em...

Great wheels if you do not mind broken flanges...
As I stated in one of my previous posts, broke flange on the rear one, went to the store and been told it is a common problem. They took it back no problem but it took them more then 2 months to replace it, they claim they changed the design and the wheel is more reliable now.
Anyway, my other wheelset is Mavic Ksyrium Elite, cost me 200 more and totally worth it.

You can see the changed hub design (additional material in between the "petals" of the flange) on the current Titans and Neuvations. As mentioned before, the spokes are slightly different. I have a pair of Titans and I think they are great. Probably would not be my choice for long rides out in the middle of nowhere... if you're really concerned about spoke breakage, you can get a Fiberfix replacement spoke.

Do you know when this change was made?

I bought a set about a month ago, and happened to be on a group ride with someone who had Neuvations. They looked exactly the same (save for the spokes apparently). Mine are doing fine so far, but I plan on building up a set of Open Pros in the future.

If they don't cause a crash, then the only inconvenience is returning them.

And getting back home from the ride. But yeah, is this a failure that will end up with me buying a new helmet or will it just make a bad day out of one ride?

the other time I saw it was on a fun ride in mexico when I came upon a girl who had busted the rear hub...I wrapped the spoke...opened the brake...and kept an eye on her till it no more down hills...I would have let her use my wheel but I was running 9 speed and she was on 10 speed...
My brother owns one supergo and one performance set...the performance set started to "ting" and he got them adjusted...we will see...
I have yet to see a front fail...
its is about quality control...btw...if u get a good set ur good...

At 20% off and free ship to store, this wheelset rings up at just about $100. A hundred bucks for a full wheelset ain't too shabby at all. This is very, very tempting.

Rode a pair to commute on for 1 year and gave them away, friend is still riding them. Broke two rear wheels in the past month (Bontrager Race Lite, Mavic MA3) both with cracked eyelets just left performance with a pair of titan for $125 with tax, not bad for a beater set - and they look pretty damn good too; once you peel the stickers off

If you don't mind mail ordering, Excel Sports has a set of Reynolds Alta Comp (slightly heavier but a few more spokes than the Titans) on sale for $160 https://www.excelsports.com/new.asp?p...jor=1&minor=24
and even a slightly used pair for $109 https://www.excelsports.com/new.asp?p...jor=1&minor=24
I had a reason to buy locally when the Titans were $129/pair, so I got those and have no regrets so far.

I've run through a few sets. I don't get very many miles on the rear before it starts pinging enough to no longer be ridable. (About 1,000-2,000 miles).
Front felt like it lasted forever, but eventually it too starting to groan.
Back to running my own builds again.
Edit: Never had a problem with Performance taking them back....even without the decals. No questions ask usually. They usually wait for you to say you want a new wheel though. Direct swap.
That's great for someone that doesn't mind having to exchange their wheels about 1-2 times a season.

Well, I just bought it. I figure at $100, it might as well be worth experimenting with. I'm pretty light at 135 lbs so it shouldn't have any weight problems. With a little spoke tuning, I'll see how many miles I can get out of these. What's surprising is that they are never in stock and I never see them on ebay. I guess people just keep using them until they die, and exchange for a new wheel. Btw, what exactly is this warranty/replacement policy under which you can get new wheels?

It's just how Performance doesn business. Go in to a retail outlet and ask (politely) for a new wheel. Walk out with new one. Done.

You'll have no problems. I am a Clydesdale (not for long hopefully!) and I was given a bike that had the Forte Titan as a front wheel, and I've been riding it for a year now with no problems. I commute on the thing through mostly inner-city type neighborhoods in Dallas with terrible roads too (unavoidalbe potholes, thick cracks and small dips)--and there have been no problems. Those 16 spokes seem to hold my weight.
