Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Stolen Bike Alert: Felt SRD 92 - Wash. DC

Hi all,

My bike was stolen earlier this week from downtown DC (18th and M) . If anyone sees this bike online or at any store, please PM me. This was my first road bike, and I only had it for 6 months. It was a good, yet short relationship. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Well, sort of my fault. I forgot my U lock at work for the weekend so I had to use only my cable lock. I foolishly thought it would be ok, because it was a high trafficked area, and I was just going to lock the bike up for a few hours, and literally be only 50 feet away inside a building. But I come out and see my cable cut and my bike gone.

The funniest part though was that the theif was nice enough to take my helmet that was also locked up, and gently place it on the seat of the adjacent bike, instead of either taking it or just throwing it on the floor.
