Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just like the title says. Cants see anything on Specialized's site. Is it just stiffness or weight? Thanks in advance.

I think it refers to the carbon weave used. The higher the r the more carbon fiber weaves there are. So the more weave the stiffer the frame.

What difference does it make? The LBS has already has you thinking newer is better. The one you can afford will make you feel best. Ride the snot out of it. Just remember carbon bikes are finite plastic junk.

My guess is has to do with similar carbon density like Trek's measurements.
