Where is the blue spacer?
On my new Campy cassette? Instead of blue anodized AL, it's now an amber plastic. Why was it that way and why did it change?
Really. It's either this or the Ryanf threads. Pick your poison. ;) |
It's just economics. At the prices they charge, Campy can't afford to use anything but plastic anymore.
Or, for the Campy zealots among us . . . It's superior engineering! Another Campy innovation that other brands will only copy -- IF they can! |
Yarr! That be only on Centaur on down, and it the colour of GOLD, GOLD I say.

Hmmmm...I'm saving the blue one out of old Veloce cassette. And it ain't gold. Then again amber was a valuable commodity in ancient times.

I have two Veloce 10 spd. cassettes: one over 3 years old and one purchased in early 2006. The later one has a blue colored spacer that almost perfectly matches the color of the bike that it is used with. My riding companions thought I was being OCP. The older one is either silver or black, I can't remember right now. Don't really know why there is a difference.
