Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best Bib Shorts under $100

OK I have read through all of the old posts about bib shorts and am ready to try some. The Pearl Isumi Attack Bib Shorts seem to get good reviews for about $80. What others do you recommend for someone on a budget? What web sites offer the best prices on clothing and accessories?

There was a test done with the same title as this thread, and the $70 Santini CX's were the winner.

I've gotten some really pretty good Pace bibs off of https://www.greenfishsports.com for less than $40. Plus, they send you one of their "really cool" little green fish stickers

didn't know they only had them in XL..and yes, I agree that they are "ok" for sure, not at all the best, but not a bad way to try out bibs before dropping some bigger bucks. The Voler's are good also, I've still got some from a club I was on over a decade ago and they are just now starting to really wear out. One brand that I just thought of is BlackBottoms. We used to get all of our team and company shorts and bibs from them years ago and they were comfortable and simply bomb proof bibs. I've seen people lay them down in a crit and have them only be scuffed up, plus they had flat seams and very comfy chamois. I have not tried a new pair in years, so I don't know if they are still the exact same design, but bibs run you about $80. https://www.blackbottoms.com

I've had the Performance Ultras and they're definitely worth snapping up on sale - like right now for instance - buy 3 pairs for 45 each and get 20% of the total. That would be three pairs for $108 plus shipping (and tax possibly). That's pretty tough to top.

I've really liked Volers as well (I've got 4 pairs right now). They're longer lasting than the Ultras for sure. They're also thicker lycra, but they just seem better made (I often hear seams popping when putting on the Ultras - but never with Voler)

But I have to say my current favorite pair are the Canari Pros I recently picked up on Sierra trading post for $56. I like them better than my much more expensive Giordanas.

I bought a pair of these, for $60 they can't be beat. These are top-of-the-line Descente bibs. Only Sm and Lrg at this point.

Performance Ultras at $45 are a good deal. scoop them up. The ass part of the chamois is really good..the taint part could be better...but for $45 you won't find a better deal.
