Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Stiffest Carbon Handlebars?

Who makes the stiffest, carbon handlebars out there? I have been using the FSA K-Wing Carbon but I just don't like the contours where your hands rest. The reason why I want carbon isn't necessary for the "bling" but more for the internal cable routing.

You might want to take a look at zipp bars, very light and stiff , and some have a flat top , but a lot more subtle than the k wings.

How much do you weigh? I hear alot more complaints from heavier riders then light ones.

I've noticed many of the wing bars just aren't that stiff. My buddy who's 140lbs and a not even that strong of a rider even notices the flex on his (I think FSA).

I'm 155lbs with the K-force normal carbon bars and do not notice much flex at all. However, there isn't internal cable routing.

I am considering the K-Force bars since I liked everything about the K-Wings (besides the hand grooves). I heard that they are stiffer too.

The one thing to note about at least my k-force bars were they were almost identical to the claimed weight. My buddy with the wing bars from some other company (I can't remember what brand but they weren't FSA) weighed like 30% more then claimed. Carbon fiber is much harder to keep consistent from part to part then your extruded aluminum bars, so being so close to claimed weight deserves some props.

Ritchey WCS Evolution Carbon.

Or if you REALLY want stiff, go with the Nitto B123's.

I haven't noticed any flex with the K-Force compacts. Maybe it has to do with the angle you pull on them. I'd guess if I leaned the bike really deep and pulled up, which is now significantly sideways, they might flex.
