Womens Seat
Hello. I am new to road cycling as I am sure you all know. I am looking for a women's seat that would be pretty inexpensive but serve its purpose. I did a search in the forums for "women seat", but nothing came up that helped me in my search. My seat right now is just too hard and it really hurts, I dont know if this is because it's a mens seat or it is just the seat in general! And also any information on what i should be looking for in a seat, like brackets and all that stuff? I was going to switch seats with my other bike but they are not compatible. Thanks ahead of time for any help.
Pls dont bash me too hard if this has been covered and i just didn't see it.

Do you wear cycling shorts with a chamois? The difference is night and day. If for some reason I ever ride my road bike wearing ordinary clothes with perhaps shorts and boxers, I find my saddle so hard; its like sitting on a brick. But with good shorts, I can ride all day and I now never get saddle sores or discomfort that cant be relieved by riding out of the saddle for 20 seconds or so.

There's a women's forum, where saddles have been discussed many times. It won't come up in the search until you have been approved by a moderator to access it. I believe donnamb is one of the moderators of that forum - I don't know if all of the moderators can grant access or only a few. Hopefully one of them will pop on here to help you.

A chamois is basically just a pad that goes around your crotch. Its ussually made of a kind of dense foam type material.

Hi, my wife is a big time road biker and she is always on the www.teamestrogen.com forum. That forum is specific to women cyclists and saddle comfort is a popular topic. You will get hundreds of hits if you do a search.
Good luck!
