My Weekend Rides With A Few Pics...Not Quite Leaf Peeping Season...

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My Weekend Rides With A Few Pics...Not Quite Leaf Peeping Season...

So I am slowly getting my legs back under me from a lack of motivation...

Amazing how much fitness one can lose in such a short time...

Saturday a 47 mile loop up to Stratton Mountain. Gusty winds with temps in the 60's...

Sunday, I wanted to test the legs on Mount Ascutney...

3.6 miles avg 12% grade. 47 degree start with fog...

My time was slower than I wanted, but not as bad as I thought...

I sweat quite a bit on the way up and froze on the way down...

The leaves are not quite at peak here in southern Vermont...

The pictures are not quite as impressive as Machka in the Canadian Rockies but at least it hasn't snowed yet!!!

Welcome to Jamaica Mon...

Stratton Mountain...

Stratton Base Lodge...

View toward Mount Snow...

View to Mount Ascutney today and in July...

Top of Mount Ascutney...

East...

West...

A lonely road...

A self portrait...

When I got home, look what were waiting for me in my backyard...

Just in time for Thanksgiving...

Nice pictures. Do your continue to ride in the rain? If so what do you have a winter bike or use those clip on fenders? The reason I ask is because here in BC we are into the fall rain season and I debating if I should continue to use my road bike or blow the dust off of my mountian bike. Keep posting your pictures really great.

Yes, but I do not enjoy cold rain...

Snow is out of the question...

I have three road bikes. I switch components frequently but I have one designated as the rain bike...

If you don't like spending a lot of time cleaning your bike dust off that mountain bike and keep riding!!!

From last Spring...

nice pics. love the stealth look of your bike. my style is understated, too.

our leaves changed really fast here. went from green to 100% yellow/orange in 1 week's time (about 2 weeks ago). debating whether to take the camera on today's ride.

One of my friends saw a kid riding a ridley around campus and asked him to ride with us. Turns out that he's never ridden hills before because he's from the midwest and he wants to learn how to ride them before he goes and rides with us. Haha, just thought you'd find that interesting.

I was inspired by Hammertoe's photos. Some fall-color photos from my ride can be found in this thread.
