Ridiculous
I have a tri bike and have been riding for numerous years, but lately I have wanted to ride more, maybe in groups, a little commuting. Today I go to craigslist and there is a bike for $150 obo just listed, a 1999 Bianchi Brava. I email the guy asking if I can take a look. On the phone I say I'm pretty strapped, which is true, and that I'd probably be able to give him 100 and he's cool with that.
Well I go and check the bike out. Intial thought... from what I could tell it was ridden less than 50 miles total, ever. He tells me it was in storage for about 6 years. Hmmmm, he bought it in 1999, plus 6 years. It's been out of storage about one year probably. I jump on and spin it around the block, the RSX shifters hit all 8 gears perfectly, the brake pads which are hardly worn grab about as well as my 105s on my other tri-bike.
I get back, tell him I'll take it and practically run and throw it into my car. The chain is spotless, the cranks are spotless. I made my wife play the "who can find a scratch" first game. There is only one, it's tiny.
I'm going to get pedals and a new saddle evetually. So really I guess it's a $200 bike. I'm jacked. I feel like I bought a brand new bike today.

your lucky getting a deal like that, it seems that on the nyc craigslist bike section everybody thinks they should get full price for their 6 year old bikes
