FSA Brake Calipers: Input requested
Searched on the forum for FSA Brake, FSA Energy brake with no real luck.
Anyone have experience with either the FSA Energy or FSA SLK line of brake calipers? Curious how the modulation is and quality is of the setups.
Thanks!

Moral of the story is, if it aint Shimano or Campy, BFers will never give a crap. Even if it is a competitive product.

If it's coming on a Cervelo, worse case scenario they'll just be 'ok' and will suit you just fine until you get around to an upgrade. But I'm sure they'll suit.

Experience with their cranksets leave me little reason to consider using a brake set from those folks. Stories abound of their QC issues in that area. I'm not saying the product is bad, just that I wouldn't trust them. Input was asked for and given.
If you want brakes like these that aren't Shimano or Campy, get the Mavic jobs. They seem well regarded enough.
There's no reason to search for drama here, folks. Conjured or otherwise.

No one is looking for drama but your abrupt initial response was about as useful as ryanf's posts.

OK, I actually use the Energys. I replaced Campy Centaur b/c I needed quick releases on the calipers.
(Long story that involves an old motorcycle accident, both brakes activated by one lever, a cable coupler and a paralyzed left hand)
Given that my application is unorthodox I can still give a comparison to the Campy Centaur which were wired identically: Basically the Centaurs are better. The FSA have decent feel/modulation but don't have the same outright "whoah!" factor to them. The Centaurs are quite a bit more powerful when you get right to it. Having said that the FSA serve the purpose of stopping me and giving me QR functions as well. If I lived in a hilly area and really needed strong brakes though, I'm not so sure.
Fortunately it's flat here and as a retro fan I'm used to vintage Campy sidepulls. No stopping with those.
Looking back I probably should've gone with Shimano but was afraid my otherwise Campy bike would've caught an infection or something.
Hope some actual feedback helps.

That was my greatest fear. Better to get tendinitis from a death grip on the brake lever than to die in the Campy-Shimano matter-anti-matter blast.
