Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

just riding along

in the car, in traffic moving about 20 mph. A bike passes me on the right. The traffic speeds up so I get alongside the bike. He's holding 25 mph. He notices me noticing him. He speeds up to around 28 mph or so according to the car speedometer. I stay next to him just under 30 mph for a couple of long blocks. Then he slows and turns off.

The bike.....a GMC Denali...

you're a liar! gmc denali's have been test proven to fly apart into oblivion if pushed past 18mph...and all the math suggests that you have to be able to output 200,000 watts of power to go 30mph on a denali.

I'm in Rhode Island, did he come way up here?

Could he be telling the truth all along?

Does Cigtech really exist, or is he an urban legend?

Maybe it was swamp gas.

What does this really mean ???

Next time wave to me before you drope the hammer ! I thought that was you!

If it was not you, Ryanf, Lance, or Cigtech........ there is only one other man on the planet that can generate enough power to make a 497lb road bike go that fast......R600DA

i ride a heavy and cheap road bike. i train 5 or 6 days a week. my average is sickenly slow on hill routes, but i can crank out flats up to 35 when im really moving.

but i swear, when my new bike is delivered roughly 10 pounds lighter with ****ty stock wheels and saddle that will be replaced right away, ill be alot faster for it. i fully intend to continue doing long hill routes on that pos heavy bike

Put the right turn signal on and see if he notices or is too caught up in racing you.
