Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Post up your white bikes

I am thinking of getting a CAAD9 frameset and am wondering if I should go with the white frame. Any have experiences with white? Is it always dirty and hard to keep clean? Any pics of the new cannondales?

Thanks

Edit* I found this thread for pics

I had problems with my white Fuji Team Issue (may she rest in peace) getting kind of a grimy type of a stain. I'm not real sure what caused it and it wasn't really noticable except when cleaning and examining it. No one I rode with ever noticed it.

I used to get that from the Michelin Axial Carbons... maybe the way it gripped bits of the pavement, maybe particles of the tire itself.

White bikes are the way to go, especially with white tape and saddle. I just order a white Bianchi. I'll post it up when I take pics.

white bikes are fine, obviously dirt is more visible than on a colored/black frame, but the euro factor can't be beat.

White is totally pro. My theory is that bikes should only be white, black, or bare aluminum. But preferably white. I want that Cannondale so bad.

It's a ***** keeping the fork and head/downtube just behind the front brake clean from all the brakedust; otherwise, it's not too bad and nothing a good wipedown and some Bike Lust can't take care of.

Stunning. I came sooooooooo close to choosing this frameset (decided I wasnt worthy). The Look 595 is peerless in style on the market right now. I am not entering into a debate I am stating FACT.

How does it ride? What did you have prior to this?

Thanks for the props! The bike ride fantastic....having said that my prior bike was a CAAD8 and it was pretty damn good as well. I've spent some quality time on a SystemSix and the two bikes handle very much the same. Laser like lines in the corners, stiff and very responsive yet compliant. Looks aside, if I had to pay retail I'd get the Six on performance. I paid significantly less for the LOOK than I would have paid for a Six. On sheer sexiness nothing really competes...some come close but I'm pretty biased about the looks of the LOOK!
