SRAM 970 is a 12-26 9speed. I just put one on yesterday. I don't know the other cogs off hand but maybe check the SRAM website? I also don't know how that compares to Ultegra level components.

will this work? I guess this is a stupid question..but here goes...it says it will Fit Shimano 8, 9, and 10 speed cassette hubs..so it should work, right? but i was also wondering will my shifter goto the "10th" gear if i put this cassette on?

I think what you want is a 9-speed cassette, unless you plan on replacing your 9-speed shifters. Luckily the pg-970 is cheap, light and 9-speed compatible.
