How'd you get the Campy Shifters to work with a non-Campy dérailleur?

i am bored. so here's a rant that is kind of ZX3 related...
some of you might know that the Max Lelli Bikes' Tiburzi bike is supposedly the same as the ZX3. Anyway, here's an interesting quote from Max Lelli's website about this bike: "The Tiburzi Pro 3K frameset boasts a monocoque construction, with a high-modulus nanotech 3K weave". Nanotech??? Does ADK use the same mould but different CF lay-up for Max Lelli?
Here's another interesting quote from Max Lelli's website: "I [Marco Bonelli, Max Lelli's business partner] proud to work with Max Lelli to launch this bicycle brand. Our mutual passion and Max's vast racing experience have allowed us to create an exciting, innovative range of bicycles, all designed and made in Italy." I thought ADK was a Taiwanese company that made frames in Taiwan and China.
Just as an aside, Max Lelli also has a TT bike, the Liger 3k and in a Cyclingnews.com article about Max Lelli's TT bike on display at the Eurobike show, the TT bike is supposedly made in Italy. Here's an ADK pamphlet showing the identical TT frame. You will also notice that the mountain bike frame is identical to the one at Max Lelli's website.

As for the 'nanotech' technology - how many people who ride a CF frame would be able to tell the difference? Max Lelli is also betting on the idea that there is no buyer willing to take their CF frame, slice it up and put it under an electron microscope.
Did I mention that my PF frame has nanotech technology too? Oh yes, and the Carbon is Organic Carbon made with the love only a mother can provide from the Unionized Mothers group of the emerging community owned lands and farms of Ecuador. All you suckers with the regular, blood-diamond carbon frames are suckers. And evil, human labor exploiting suckers at that.

Pretty weak if you ask me, but not necessarily surprising.

That is easy. They *paint* the frames in Italy, and then they claim that the painting has greater value than the raw frame. Same with the "design"... they design the paint scheme. It could be a different layup than the ZX3, but most likely they don't know enough about CF to meddle with that. Or maybe ADK now offers a nano option to certain companies.

I would love to have mine built up already, but to be quite honest I am not sure when I will have the time to finish it...I would be willing to part with my size 58, untouched and in original packing.

For the sake of humanity and more specifically the non-visually impaired, tell us you intend those stickers a la NASCAR from the wheels.

Ride report
Took it for it's maiden voyage yesterday. My previous frame was an Airborne Zep which is a rather flexy Ti frame. My first impression of the ZX3 was that the bike goes straight down the road very well... very stable and not the least bit twitchy. I wasn't sure that I liked this at first... but after less than a mile I headed down a long 8% grade with gusty winds and decided that stability was a good thing. Of course it is easy enough to turn if you want to. The biggest difference campared to the Zep is the lateral stiffness. On the Zep any sudden motion or correction at the bars will send a lateral wave through the frame. I'd gotten used to it, but that solid feeling is oh so nice! The ZX3 is just rock steady. The lack of mushiness when standing is another plus. At slow speeds it feels a little strange which I think is a product of the high steering trail, but over ~5 mph it is fine.
As for "comfort" the chipseal feels the same as always...
I like the way the weave shows up in the sunlight...

Is everyone using a 31.6 seatpost, or did you use a shim and a 27.2 seatpost? I need a nice zero setback for my friends bike. I ordered an FSA post, but it turned out to be a mountain bike post and looks funny on her bike. I might just go Thomson.

Yup... and the short one... 278mm or something. I have a 31.6 to 27.2 reducer that I considered using, but they are more likely to slip.

I have the 278 mm Thomson on my ZX3, and it works like a charm. And like rruff, it's a 31.6 mm model.
Found mine for $12 on eBay.

I needed to upgrade the brakes on my Merlin Road, so I used the DA brakes on my ZX3, and got a set of the TRP 920s for the ZX3. The claimed weight for the TRP brakes is 260g. The measured weight was exactly 260g. I also changed the seat to a Selle San Marco Caymano.
The changes brought the weight of my bike to 15.01 pounds (6810 grams) with pedals and bottle cages. That would be 14.6 pounds (6610g) without. I can live with that.

Looks great! Have you ridden it with the TRP brakes yet? I'm curious as to how they compare to the Dura Ace ones in terms of performance.

They feel firm and smooth, and they look very high quality and well made.
I'll report back on how they ride.

The brakes seem to work just as nice as they look.
Maybe a tad less firm than DA, but at least as good, if not better than Record Skeleton I have on my CR.
Light weight, low cost, great performance, and they look good. What more could you want from a set of stoppers?

Sorry for the delay!
Pedal Force ZX3
Full dura-ace
PF seatpost
PF fork
FSA headset
Ritchey WCS bars
Ritchey WCS stem
Ligero built niobium 30mm, WI H1 hubs, sapim xrays w/ultegra cassette
Temporary Michelin Krylion Carbon tires until the prorace 3's are at PBK
Look Keo Sprint pedals
Deda bar tape
Fizik Arione saddle
Garmin Edge 305 GPS
Did I miss anything?
Weight with pedals and cages, ready to ride: 16.25lbs
Total cost, ready to ride: $2500
Weird, but invisible unless under a flash:
My new wallpaper:
The headset spacers will probably disappear after my fitting. The bar drop is much less than on my current ride. No ride report yet, it's still snowing!
