Panasonic DX-2000, opinions and PC?
Hi, I was trying to look up information on this bike (Panasonic DX-2000), but it seems it's very limited. So far all I can tell is that it was made in the 80s and went for $200 back then.
Also, there's a listing on my local CG asking for $150. All original parts except for the tires which are new. I was wondering if that's a proper price. The seller said they could go as low as $125. I was maybe hoping to go even lower, even into the double digits ($50-$75). I'd like to get some opinions on the value of such a bike.
Thanks in advance.

The Team models (Team, Team Europe, Team America) are highly sought after. Just below them in terms of quality and desirability is the DX-5000, followed by the Dx-4000, 3000, 2000, 1000 and sport models. Though this bike has little value to collectors, it's probably solid enough; Panasonics were typified by good construction. $150 seems a bit steep -- Maybe $90-$100. It kind of depends on where you live: in pittsburgh, where I live now it would probably sell for about $100. In my old home, San Francisco, it would sell for a good deal more.

My wife had a DX 2000. IIRC it was $300 new, back in 1985. If it's in good shape it should be a quite serviceable bike. I wouldn't pay over $100 however.
