Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

(Insert Non-Offensive Exclamation) - I Did It Again....

I told myself I was done...that I had enough and wanted to concentrate on finishing my current projects. I told the world that my next one would be a custom...that I had gotten it all out of my system.

But I had to peek to see what was out there. I just couldn't stay away. And of course, one spoke to me. It said..."you need me to be complete" - whatever that means.

I put in a reasonable bid, not expecting it to pull through. But such is the nature of the 'Bay, sometimes we are surprised.

All I'm saying at this time is this:

It's Italian, it's steel and it's circa 1990. AND, it has a different paint scheme than anything I have.

Formal announcement coming after I receive it.

Uggghhh...when does it end? (hopefully never)

You are sicker than Cuda. He just IM'd me and he wants to build a CF bike to replace the Flyte he just built.

Yeah! Any idea when it'll be built up or what you'll use for the build?

The Flyte was not "just built", I finished that last January!

btw, Rad, very very nice bud. What are you putting on this one? And when are you starting your side business of renting vintage steel bikes to BF'ers when they come into town. You've got enough now.

I have no idea...it's number 3 in the queue behind the Pinarello and the Tommasini.

a couple of years ago i was buying a vintage watch every 3-4 weeks, sometimes 2 every 3-4 weeks.

when i went from 2 to 25 watches in less than 6 months, i realized that i had enough.

how many bikes does this make it now?

Little wonder you couldn't resist -- that's a handsome steelie there.

Of course being hopelessly addicted isn't helping things either. -- Not that that's a bad thing.

You should've been born into my family -- I have inherited some nice vintage watches and they are a curse. I practically had an old swiss repairman on permanent retainer until I finally gave up on keeping them running correctly.
