R28SL3 incase you can't read from the photos. Ordered last week and delivered today. Had a semi-custom request and John was kind enough to assist.

Will complete this bike for now. Need to eventually upgrade the crankset, stem is now a ritchey 4axis. Planning on removing all but 1 sticker per wheel/side.

I'm curious, what was the semi-custom request?
I have those wheels and love them. Unfortunatly the rear is currently in the shop because a bearing exploded, not sure if this was because the shop screwed up or because the wheel had issues. The Aksium spare I put on feels laggy in comparison, I never thought I'd be able to feel that much of a difference.
Did you get the ceramic bearings? Those wheels spin forever with the ceramic bearings in.

I expected you to chime in. The hub issues supposedly have been addressed with the newer versions of the Neuvations so I figured I'd give them a shot. John's CS is good enough to support trying them out.

Absolutely. I don't need any warnings of what may happen, I did my research before ordering the wheels. If there are issues I have no doubts that John would address them and that was included as a part of my decision. From what I know the hub issues are supposed to be addressed. That was the only component failure that seemed common. The issues with trueness/tension can be addressed with QC. John installed the bearings so I can only hope that he went over the wheel prior to shipping. From first pass the wheel looks perfect. Time will tell how well they hold up.

I'd been thinking about getting a pair of Neuvation R28 Aero 3's to replace my Shimano 550's... We'll see...
Or maybe a pair of ROL Volants...

The hub problem was only one of several I experienced with numerous Neuvation wheels. Also had broken spokes for no good reason -- though your wheels appear to have DT Comps, which are good spokes.
I wish you luck with yours -- hopefully Neugent is now selling a good product along with his solid customer service.

Coyote2...what wheelset did you have failures with? what version?
Patentcad...did you also experience problems with Neuvations?
Curious 'cause I'm also considering these wheels.
Back on topic: Those R28's do look nice. But why are the nipples different colors in terms of front and rear wheels? Or are my eyes deceiving me?

Yes, he will address problems. Though that is faint consolation when you are stranded far from home.

The drive side rear are brass and so they are CP. The others are alloy.
And I asked him what has changed over the 3 versions...
The SL2's had better hubs and spokes than the original SL's and the SL3's have stronger rims, better hub flange spacing (stronger wheel) and lighter contact seals on the bearings.

I bought a set about a year ago during his big clearance. I pulled them out of the box, held the axle nuts and spun the wheel, and it was so far off center it 'wavered' almost 1/8". I returned them immediately and bought a set of hand builts at the LBS.
I hope the quality control has improved since then.

My god, Neuvation's decals are ugly as sin. The 70's called, and they want their graphic designer back.
Enjoy the hell out of them, though--lots of happy customers out there riding them.

Even before mounting tires/installing casette, removing stickers. I've left 1 per side so far but I doubt I'll keep any of them.
