Campy and Shimano - Best of Both Worlds?
I'm thinking of running a Shimano Dura Ace crank will a full Campy Centaur 08 group. How does one go about this smoothly? I believe that I have read that this is possible, but what type of chain would I use (Shimano or Campy)? Obviously the wheels have to be Campy compatible and the bottom bracket will be DA.
I'm mainly doing this because I believe that I can save some cash by using a DA crank (~$150 used on eBay) instead of a Centaur. Plus, DA cranks rule. :) Thanks all. |
This will work fine. As long as the chain is 10-speed it doesn't much matter who makes it. This sounds like a sensible set up; IMO new Shimano cranks are generally a better value than higher end Campy cranks.

Just use a campy chian and get an 08 FD. Its got a new cage that works with both standard and compact.
